A little about me!

I have been overweight my whole life and have tried to lose weight several times.  My daughter was born January 14, 2008 and after a year of watching her grow I finally decided once and for all I am going to lose weight.  Although it took me a little over a year to reach that point on am well on my weigh (yes I know it is the wrong way).  February 11 marked the start of the new Scott.  At the first weigh in I tipped, cracked, and punished the scale to the tone of an even 400 pounds.  Which some might say is not a lot, but keep in mind I am only six feet tall.  I am proud to say that as of today I have lost 76 pounds and weigh 324 pounds.  I am little under halfway to my goal of 175 pounds.

However, I have set another goal and that is to run in a 5K race this year.  This week marked the start of training for that event which will take place November 15.  Although I have done some form of cardio at least 5 days a week since February, I was a little surprised at the difference between a treadmill and the sidewalks in my neighborhood.  Also, keep in mind I live in Arkansas and there are some hills here.  I don’t care what incline a treadmill has it is still different then running outside.  The best thing about running outside is that I push myself harder.  The reason I say that is becuase I change the scenary along with routes and looking at the watch all of the time.  I have given myself plenty of time to train and feel confident that I will meet my goals.
